Take a deep breath…and let it go.
We all like to think of crafting as a way to relax, to find inner stillness. However, sometimes our brains don’t act the way we want them to; sometimes, we get Crafter’s Block, and suddenly our favorite hobby becomes stressful.
One strategy to address Crafter’s Block is to find stillness somewhere else. Here are some suggestions:
- Take a nap
- Pray or meditate
- Float in the pool
- Wash the dishes
- Do yoga or breathing exercises
- Visit the library
- Take a short, leisurely walk in the park
- Play quiet music in your headphones and clean out the car
- Sit by a lake or a pond
Find some way to be still. When our brains are running a mile a minute, it’s hard to switch into a creative mode. When we stop and breathe for a bit, we can soften into a better space for crafting.
